"The local Folk Festival appears to have had a big impact on a Cambridge singer, here with his first full-scale album.

He's got a solid voice and a steely playing that sometimes crashes into Levellers rabble-rousing territory, and at others into the mysterious old-world mad visions of Lupen Crook.

There's no true moments of greatness to quite match his desire, but it's a solid enough start."
